Up-To-Date Information
We provide up-to-date information on permanent housing that is reserved for persons living with HIV (PLWH). We can help you apply for other market-rate and/or subsidized housing (Project-Based Voucher, Housing Choice Voucher, Public Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, transitional housing, shelter beds, etc.) We also provide referrals to a wide range of resources such as social services, health services and financial assistance available only to PLWH.
Phone Line And Regular Visits
The AHIP phone line is available Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm except for County holidays. Due to the volume of calls we receive we encourage texting for faster response at 510-695-1693. Afterhours and weekend callers may leave messages or text at 510-695-1693. The AHIP Coordinator also makes physical or virtual visits to hospitals and clinics in Alameda County and to the offices of several AIDS Service Organizations (ASO’s). During these visits, AHIP staff meets with clients individually or in groups, answering questions, distributing and filling out applications for subsidized housing, conducting workshops, and assisting with housing search activities.
